1945년 험프리 보가트(Humphrey Bogart)는 어네스트 헤밍웨이의 소설 <To Have and Have Not>의 영화촬영장에서
로렌 바콜(Lauren Baccall)을 처음으로 만났다.
당시, 보가트는 메이요 메조트(Mayo Methot)와 3번째 결혼생활을 하고 있었다.

1945. 2. 보가트는 로렌 바콜(Lauren Baccall)과의 결혼을 발표하였으며 동년 5. 21. 결혼식을 올렸다.
로렌 바콜은 20세로서 첫 결혼이었지만 험프리 보가트는 46세로서 바콜과는 4번째의 결혼식이었다.
1957년 험프리 보가트는 암(癌)으로 사망하였으며 바콜은 1961. 중견 배우인 제이슨 로바즈와 결혼하였으나
1969. 이혼하였다. 로렌 바콜은 89세인 2014. 8. 12. 사망하였다.
