Daring Blonde - Jean Harlow

Born of a dentist father, Jean Harlow, was born in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1927, at the age of sixteen, she ran away from home and married a few years later an influential businessman, Charles Mc Grew.

The couple moved to Los Angeles, where the young Harlow, then aged 23, was hired as an extra on film sets.
His career started in 1929 when she starred in short films produced by Hal Roach, in particular with the inseparable duo Stan Laurel / Oliver Hardy.
In 1930, Jean Harlow finally fills the screen with Hell's Angels produced and directed by tycoon Howard Hughes, whom she falls in love.
The film receives meanwhile a hero's welcome.
Shortly after the release of the film, Hughes sold the contract actress at MGM for $ 60,000: his career and his fame took off overnight.
Claimed by all Hollywood studios, the actress still often remains confined to the roles of femme fatale, always linked to gangsters.

In 1931, Frank Capra asked him to get out of this register with The Platinum Blonde.
But it is probably with Red Dust, in which she starred with Clark Gable, it reinforces its image sex symbol.
The filming, however, was overshadowed by the suicide of her second husband, who threatened death time production of the film.

Released in 1932, the film was a great success.

Refusing the title role of King Kong, ultimately endorsed by Fay Wray, she prefers filming of Dinner at eight o'clock and La Belle Missouri, which won him critical acclaim.
The reception of Reckless Youth (1935), however, is much more reserved, the actress is not comfortable in the musical.
During the filming of Saratoga in 1937, Jean Harlow seriously ill.
She died at 26 years, without being able to complete the film.
Completed with a liner, the film is the highest grossing film of 1937.
